PEMF Therapy
Compliment Your Training with a Solid Equine Wellness Plan
PEMF is an acronym for Pulsed ElectroMagnetic Fields. This therapy creates a gentle pulsing that restores health at a cellular level. As the magnetic field is pulsed on, electrons are excited and the cells exposed to the magnetic field are exercised and expanded. The electrically charged cell membrane is gently pulled by the pulsing magnetic field and the matter, as well as the space around the matter, is recharged. On the off phase of the pulse, the cells relax. This is a profoundly beneficial exercise and cellular rehabilitation. As cells expand and relax, they rehabilitate, ion movement improves and the membranes’ electrical charge begins to return to optimal. As cells recharge themselves, they heal and return to optimal function and improve the regeneration of new cells.
PEMF therapy can be used to treat the whole body or specific areas or injuries. Studies have proven neurological, physiological and psychological benefits. It is a widely used non-invasive therapy for multiple conditions, improved health and enhanced performance of both animals and people.

PEMF can treat many conditions such as:
- competition or performance stress and body soreness
- soft tissue injuries
- abscesses
- aid in comfort for aging conditions
- digestive issues
- post surgery recovery
- bone issues
- lack of energy
- behavioral issues associated to stress and tension
- faster recovery from performance, illness or injury
- and more…
Frequently Asked Questions
1 WHAT HAPPENS DURING A PEMF SESSION?
The PEMF device sends a pulsing magnetic field through a soft, flexible rubber coil into the body. As the pulsing magnetic field pulses on, the cell membrane is gently pulled by the magnetic field. On the off phase of the pulse, the cell membrane is relaxed. As the cells expand and relax, the cell membrane becomes more permeable, allowing the cell to release waste, toxins and inflammation and receive oxygen and nutrients. This receiving of oxygen and releasing of waste is what increases the natural charge of the cell. As the cell reaches it’s natural charge, the message of pain to the brain is reduced and the cells return to optimal health. This cellular exercise is what is profoundly beneficial and unique to PEMF.
This cellular exercise is what is profoundly beneficial and unique to PEMF. Because the magnetic wave effects only the cells that have a low level of charge, the damaged cells are the only ones that show pulsing or twitching. Because of this, the PEMF is very effective in locating the damaged cells (areas of soreness).
HOW LONG DOES A PEMF SESSION TAKE?
The time for a PEMF session are faster with PULSE Equine PEMF Systems than any other systems on the market because of our unique X-Large double loops which create 2 separate pulsing magnetic fields and the ability to work the legs and the body at the same time!
Normal session time is 30-45 minutes for horses, 20-60 minutes for humans and small animals depending on how many areas are worked.
HOW IS A PEMF SESSION PERFORMED?
Using a soft, flexible rubber “loops” the PEMF device is gently placed over the body. As the coil is placed on or over the body, the magnetic pulses are adjusted to a very comfortable level. It is non-invasive and no medication or sedation is required. Horses LOVE PEMF therapy!
CAN A PEMF SESSION BE DONE RIGHT AT THE SHOW OR EVENT?
Absolutely! A horse can be worked immediately after a session. PEMF helps horses to loosen up and relax at a show, reduces their pain & stiffness and helps them recover faster.
WHEN WILL THE RESULTS OF THE PEMF SESSION BE SEEN OR FELT?
Results are usually immediate. Some riders have noticed a difference within the first couple steps their horse takes after their first PEMF session. As the blood is oxygenated and circulation is increased, improvement will continue for up to 72 hours after a whole body PEMF session.
HOW DOES PEMF DEVICE SHOW AREAS OF SENSITIVITY?
Muscle tissue pulses or twitches in sore or damaged areas because of Cellular membrane movement.
WHY DO A SESSION ON THE WHOLE HORSE IF THE PROBLEM IS IN ONE AREA?
PEMF creates a systemic response like “Fine-tuning” or “Turbo-Charging” the WHOLE body, because of this, many issues, not just the targeted ones, also experience improvement. By increasing the blood oxygen in the whole body, the sensitive area continues to be helped as super oxygenated blood from the rest of the body continues to flow through the area, for up to 72 hours.
IS PEMF THE SAME AS MAGNETIC BLANKETS AND BOOTS?
These PEMF therapies are similar. However, the difference is in the delivery process and our technology’s ability to actually target and focus the right level of PEMF energy to the specific area of a horse that needs attention.
PEMF EQUINE THERAPY VS SHOCKWAVE?
While PEMF is similar, the difference is in the delivery method and the ability to focus the right level of power to the specific area that needs it. While the Blankets provide a low, uniform level of power, it may not be adequate for deeper injuries or in denser parts of the body. So it is important to be able to deliver the right level of power to the damaged areas. So the main areas of difference are as follows:
- Pulse Equine PEMF Systems give the ability to detect where a horse is sore and address that specific area.
- Our Pulse Equine PEMF systems are easily adjustable, high-powered devices. This ability to adjust the intensity provides the optimal level of power needed to a specific area and receive immediate results.
- Our Pulse Equine PEMF systems can provide the optimal level of power to a very specific point ANYWHERE on a horse. This is particularly useful when working on areas like; the poll and jaw, the psoas muscles, hamstrings, stifle, necks, legs, abscess in hoofs and specific acupressure points.
